Hello Ascot Community!

Ascot Avenue Elementary, founded in 1898 in Los Angeles, has a rich history that dates back to its humble beginnings as a one-room yellow schoolhouse named Vernon Avenue Elementary. Today, our school is committed to creating a safe and intellectually challenging environment that empowers students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers, and inspired 21st-century learners. We hold students to high expectations, respecting their diversity and individuality, and offer a range of programs and services to support their unique needs.

Our school is proud to offer a robust STEM program, which includes coding and instructional technology training for our teachers, ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Our VEX IQ Challenge Robotics Program Grant has enabled us to establish a thriving robotics team, where students can explore their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and competitive environment.

In addition to our STEM program, we are also proud to offer a dual language program, which provides students with the opportunity to expand their bilingual and biliterate skills in English and Spanish. This program not only enhances our students' language skills but also fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.

Beyond the classroom, we are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that extends beyond the bell. Our partnership with City Year and Beyond the Bell enables us to offer a range of extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and leadership programs, which help our students develop important life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Music plays a vital role in our school's curriculum, and we believe that it is an essential part of a well-rounded education. Our Visual and Performing Arts Program (VAPA) offers students the opportunity to explore their creativity through visual arts, theatre, and musical instruments. We are also proud to partner with the LA Opera, which provides our students with workshops and classes in opera and voice.

Our school is deeply committed to building strong relationships with our community, and we are grateful for our partnership with the Community Baptist Church. This partnership enables us to provide our students and families with access to a range of resources and services, including food banks, health services, and family support programs.

At Ascot Avenue Elementary, we believe that every student deserves a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and beyond. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment that inspires our students to become curious, creative, and critical thinkers, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community for generations to come.
