School Profile

Ascot Avenue Elementary was founded in 1898 in Los Angeles. The original one-room yellow one-room schoolhouse was named Vernon Avenue Elementary and was located off Vernon Ave and Ascot Ave where Ascot Elementary now resides. Our goal at Ascot is to create a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become innovative thinkers, creative problem solvers, and inspired 21st century learners. We hold students to high expectations, where we respect their diversity. We offer services to students with IEPs with seven Special Education classes which include 4 Autism classrooms (kinder-5th). Students look forward to our Visual and Performing arts Program (VAPA) in visual arts, theatre, and musical instruments. We also partnered with LA Opera for workshops in opera and voice classes. Our teachers are continuously trained in Science, Engineering, Instructional Technology, and Coding. Ascot was awarded the VEX IQ Challenge Robotics Program Grant for the upcoming years. Go Ascot Lions!
